About the wines
Prairie Souls wines are internationally sourced, single varietal, vintage wines that match the richness and authenticity of the food grown and raised on this great land.
The first vintages are a partnership with the Scotto family of Lodi, California, a 2022 Chardonnay and a 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Suzanne Sandboe
The first edition of the wine label features Albertan and Peace Region resident, Suzanne Sandboe, an award winning artist who has been exhibiting and selling her artwork for the past 30 years.
Suzanne's paintings are inspired by the beautiful Canadian Landscape, the people and their history. Two of Suzanne's pieces are featured on the first vintage of the wines exclusively distributed in Alberta.
Suzanne graciously agreed to be the first artist featured on Prairie Souls wines. She is the perfect ambassador for art in the Prairies, as she is a dedicated rural Albertan who volunteers in her community on the town council, the Sexsmith Museum and the Grain Elevator Preservation Project .
She lives nearby her family’s original homestead (featured on “An Old Friend”) where she raised her family with her husband, Eddie Sandboe. She continues to travel the province and paint, hosted at many prominent hotels as a ‘Painter in Residence’ when she is not home, creating and painting in her studio while keeping up with grandkids and extended family.

About Maven Wine Marketing
Maven Wine Marketing was founded in 2010. The concept was created by a need for remote representation for a prominent California brand looking to secure and manage their business in Canada.
The business has since grown and developed several initiatives including remote wine dinners and representation of brands locally.
Latest, MWM is a liquor agency with the AGLC, and launching a made for market brand.
Rania Burns
Owner, Maven Wine Marketing & Prairie Souls
Educated in Canada and Bordeaux, Rania has a host of Sales and Marketing experience in the wine business from large size wineries to estate wineries. She has experience managing several brands in the complex Canadian wine industry.
Rania has lived and worked in 4 prominent wine areas: Bordeaux, Sonoma, Napa and the Okanagan. She has also travelled and sold wine extensively throughout Canada, Asia and Europe. Most recently, Rania has been studying winemaking and working in the cellar with a winemaking team. She is launched her own brand, Prairie Souls, in Alberta in 2024.
